The 16th China Southern Endovascular Conference (SEC 2023) will be held in Haikou, a beautiful city of Hainan province, during July 13-16, 2023. On behalf of the conference organizing committee, it is my privilege to welcome you to join the conference.
SEC2023 is an international conference held by the Vascular Surgery Research Center of Sun Yat-Sen University with co-hosts including Professional Committee of Vascular Surgery of National Cardiovascular Center and Association of Vascular Surgery from 10 provinces in southern China. It is jointly hosted by the People's Hospital of Hainan Province and the editorial department of the Chinese Journal of Vascular Surgery. We had successfully held 15 congresses since 2006. After years of exploration and summary, the SEC has already established a theme of “Be higher, more precise, and better”. With the brilliant academic reputation, SEC attracts thousands of medical personnel and manufacturers engaged in vascular diseases in China and from all over the world each year. The 14th SEC in 2020 had attracted more than 4,300 participants. Even if being affected by the pandemic , the 15th SEC in 2022 still had more than 2,500 offline and 830,000 online participants, creating the highest number of participants in vascular surgery in China. As one of the most enormous and influential conferences in China, SEC is continuously leading the development of Chinese vascular surgery.
The 16th SEC gathers many academic forums including the 11th PAD Premium Salon, 7th "Force Cohesion" China Youth Physician Case Competition, 5th China Vascular Youth Physicians Clinical Skills Competition, 1st Vascular Diseases and Metabolism Research Forum, 6th China-Japan Vascular Forum, Vascular and Endovascular Issues Techniques Horizons (VEITH, Branch venue @ SEC), and Vascular InterVentional Advances (SITE, Branch venue @ SEC).
The conferences will invite experts from home and abord to discuss hot topics in vascular area including clinical diagnosis and treatment, evidence-based medicine, hotspot focus, research and development and transformation, novel concepts and techniques, prevention of complications, and nursing of vascular diseases, and provide nearly 100 videos of various classical and complex cases. In accordance with the theme of “Be higher, more precise, and better”, SEC will spare no effort improving academic level of vascular surgery in China.
Haikou, known as "Coconut City" and located at tropical area, is a city of national "the Belt and Road" strategic fulcrum and the core of Hainan Free Trade Port. The city, bordering the Qiongzhou Strait in the north, is a southern coastal city with beautiful coastal natural scenery. Since the port opening in the Northern Song Dynasty, it has a history of over a thousand years. Haikou has been regarded as the first "World Healthy City" in China by the World Health Organization, with honorary titles such as " China's Charming City, China's Happiest City, China's Top Ten Good Life Cities, China's Most Investment Potential City, China's Excellent Tourism City, and National Historical and Cultural City ". It has won the annual "China Habitat Environment Award" issued by the Ministry of Housing and Construction. In 2018, it was entitled as the first batch of "International Wetland Cities" by the United Nations International Wetland Convention Organization.
SEC 2023, let us gather in Haikou, harvest the joy of gathering and enjoy the academic feast in an atmosphere that combines sunshine, sand, and seawater. Welcome to SEC! Welcome to Haikou!
